Where are we at? LCA during COVID March-May 2020

This has been a challenging time for the entire world. We have all had to adjust our plans and expectations. As an organization we did have to cancel the final rehearsals and performance for our final 40th Anniversary Season. It has been difficult...

We quickly had to make the decision to protect our singers and the community. The board took steps to make sure we could financially sustain through the end of the season. And we all moved into a new "normal" without rehearsing, without being together, without making music in the same way...

But what have we done and where are we at? In March, we held a ZOOM choir social hour to check in. I have been working with Carrie to keep lots of content on our social media platforms and we organized a committee to discuss the future of LCA.

We look forward to sharing with everyone updates and plans in the near future. Know that we are working on ways to bring music to our world again. We need to be creative and we need to be positive. We need to reflect the the difficulties facing our communities , not only because of COVID-19, but also the cultural strife and chaos in our cities these past weeks. We will find ways to be a positive force for change. We will care for each other and care for our community! We will continue to sing on!

If music be the food of love,
Sing on till I am fill’d with joy;
For then my list’ning soul you move
To pleasures that can never cloy.
Your eyes, your mien, your tongue declare
That you are music ev’rywhere.
Pleasures invade both eye and ear,
So fierce the transports are, they wound,
And all my senses feasted are,
Tho’ yet the treat is only sound,
Sure I must perish by your charms,
Unless you save me in your arms.
If music be the food of love,
Sing on till I am fill’d with joy!
